Taylors Shaving

Taylors ShavingSome shaving underestimated

Many of those who have changed shaving also switched to expensive shaving creams and soaps. To some, shaving is like a religion that demands sacrifices expensive form of soaps, creams, brushes and razors (new and old). Although I recognize that most expensive toiletries are excellent products as well, there are some who do not deserve the hype and very expensive. The good news is that, for all these products overpriced and overrated, you also have some elements undervalued, underestimated. These are my picks in no particular order:

1 - Stick Valobra and Soft Soaps Shaving (creams). Great products at a great price. Probably the most neutral pH shaving products I've ever tried. The foam is incredibly thick and smooth. The gentle shaving soap has the consistency of a cream, but for some reason wants Valobra label soap.

2 - Merkur HD Classic Step Merkur Shave Soap and Kent. Well, not exactly understated, but still excellent products.

3 - Pirate's Cove shaving soap. For some reason, these soaps do not get too much coverage on the shaving forums. However, I found one of the best soaps out there. The smell is great and durable, the foam is thick and smooth and finally the price is high (about $ 3 on Ebay, if you can find them). 4 - Tan Gillette Super-Speed (1950's-1960 Super-Speed). An excellent, sweet razor that does not get much love because of its availability. Gillette makes millions of them and consequently many of them are still there today. You may find them on Ebay for a good price and if you're a little patience you can score one in excellent condition for $ 20 or more. 5 - Omega Boar Badger. A large brush that behaves like a good wine with time. In fact, there is a perfectly logical explanation for that. Over time, the tips of the bristle brush soften while the rest relatively dense and rigid. An outstanding brush for soaps and a real bargain at about $ 12. 6 - Col Conk shaving soap. As good as soaps Pirates Cove to create a good lather. A little more expensive but. 7 - Taylor of Bond Street Mr Taylor Shave Cream. The best cologne scented shaving cream I've ever tried.

8 - Col Conk Badger Badger. They are manufactured by Vulfix UK / Progress and identical to the more expensive cousins Vulfix mark.

9 - French shaving soaps (Health Provence, Provence before, Lothantique etc. ...). At least as good as the British know. A characteristic of most French soaps is that they are softer and softer skin compared with highly scented soaps Columbia.

10 - U.S. Personna blades. Can be found at Wal-Mart for $ 1.4 billion a pack of 10. Not the greatest waves there, but cheap and easy to buy.

11 - If you are in Canada: JM Fraser shaving cream. For $ 10 you get £ 1. (This is not a typo, the tank contains 1 pound.) From shaving cream great. It has a light lemon / lime scent, produces a large foam and makes a great work to soften your beard.
