Burgers, fries and Ignorant Politics: Does democracy need a review? America has become a place of confusion for many people trying to decipher through the mess of politics that is inherent in a huge country that touts democracy. The critical examination of (No. 1 Vol. 19) article Ignorance as states Trailhead: From Modest Epistemology realistic political theory that a new elitist political paternalism may be necessary to fight against ignorance of the general population. In other words, Brighter Minds need to make decisions for people.
The concept of the political elite makes sense, but in reality this is already the case. We in the United States a pseudo-democracy in the sense that all candidates are known, but few, except the elite, know what the candidates represent. Democracy, in its early American terms, means that the policy was made on a local basis. People know who the riders, shook hands, questions, etc. .. This is one reason why many politicians still travel the country.
At some point in the story he wanted to say something to be part of a party. However, as these parties matured (Democrats and Republicans) the lines of the difference in their ideologies have changed. People seem to float near the center and it is almost impossible to determine their party simply based on how they vote. Some are liberal and conservative, but some parties have become only a path to politics, not an ideological difference.
The fact that candidates and parties have become confusing, the average person has become confused about what the issues really are. For example, people may not know what all the candidates present themselves and may possibly vote on issues of race, locality, and appearance rather than actual political ideology. In other words, the issues are more important policy issues.
When people are faced with a decision without adequate information and confusing information, they choose what they know. If someone seems to be honest or they speak in a tone as it is logical they will vote for that candidate. In some cases, people will simply vote for a candidate because they remember their name. This means that the process is broken.
Currently, the country is ruled by political elites. This group of people who have the highest level of income and education. They are the ones who contribute to campaigns, read their newspaper on a regular basis, and politics seen as a method of maintaining wealth. For example, the Israeli lobby as the countries largest lobby even if it is a foreign entity. Where are the national issues in relation to this issue?
Thus, ignorance article as a starting point: From Modest Epistemology of local political realist theory that a paternalistic political elite need to be developed to guide people in the right candidates is already in existence. This is not an official method or system as described in the system, but those who control the labor control the country. The more you move up the scale of rich, tight knit group.
