But with all the crooks in the world today, I change my opinion on this subject. You may ask what good writing on this subject at all. One reason is that we should try to save fuel by all means possible, like trying to limit the number of times you drive your car, which can be done by planning your trips. You can go to work with other employees or take the bus. Another suggestion is to try to use a saver fuel additive in your car. But back to why I think it is real.
My first reason is technology: When I was younger if energy companies promised the American people would allow them to build nuclear power plants in the United States, after their return on investment on the construction of these facilities was conducted , energy in the future would be dirt cheap. (Sorry young we bought the lie). Seems to me that my electric bill continues to climb ever year no less.
Still in the early sixties one of my friends had this idea for saving fuel by eliminating oil changes in vehicles. He invented a system of oil filter that was accessible under the hood of the car instead of under the engine. This allowed all the oil to run down the filter in the engine due to gravity. You unscrew the top of the filter housing and add a roll of toilet paper and put it up. After installing the new roll of toilet paper that you add a quart of oil. He does this every 20 thousand miles and oil was still clean on the dipstick. He said the brakes of the oil and dirt if you can keep it clean it would last much longer. No company was interested in this invention because it would reduce oil consumption. Nobody cares to save fuel or furl savers in those days. By the way we look under the hood of the new BMW today and see that they have used part of his idea.
Also in the sixties there was a gentleman who has invented a carburetor that got 100 miles to the gallon on those big heavy old clunkers. Here, drove his car from Chicago to California on a gas. It was announced on television and it was great news. It was short lived because a few weeks later it was reported that he had other fuel tanks on the car. I can tell you that is a lie, but the American people seem to buy this kind of lies. The man at his own expense to copy the blue copy of the carburetor in public libraries so if anyone wanted for themselves proved you could build one. Guess no one? By the way next year, after his new invention, the automakers have to feed and eject replaced carburetors, and if you know something about engines and fuel economy that was not the way forward.

I can tell you it does not go to the American people or the oil is not that expensive. The oil is shipped elsewhere, probably in Japan, and we import our oil and we need to pay more for it. So why do we have our own oil well capped? Why is it not we drill off our own expense when they plan on renting drilling off the coast of China in Florida? Another big question is why do not burn coal? I live here in Virginia and there is a train that passes our house 24 times a day with more than 100 coal cars on it. It comes somewhere on the seas, where another country can save oil by using our natural resources, but we here in America we can not burn our own coal. Oh how they have bought another one hundred and shinny new cars were filled with coal and are now running two trains every hour.
