FendrihanCan you help me decide whether or not it is wise to switch to a razor?

Hey folks, long Gillette disposable razor users here. I started when they were marketing their "Mach 3" disposable razors, and then followed them to their "Fusion" program. The problem is that it is becoming a bit too expensive for me (spare blades). I like the quality I get from shaving with Gillette Fusion, but the price of their replacement blades is absolutely ridiculous. So I recently switched to a Braun "Series 1" razor wireless. Eeeesh, about a shave shit!
I then met as a site ( http://www.fendrihan.com) that sells razors. I was just curious to know what you need to work with a razor (IE: the razor itself, badgers, etc.). Aparteds to everything I needed, is it profitable? How these razors last time before going dull? Can you refine them later when they are as good as the day you bought it?
Please be specific in your answers.

razors are not easy to use. eventually you learn to cut much use. a box of reloads on a razor reg lasts me forever.
one thing I did was shave with the razor, one day, then use the electric shaver, the next day. worked great
