Cut Throat Shave

What Gillette and other companies razor does not want you to know:

When I started shaving in the sixties, we used safety razors with a simple two blades meet. We shave with one hand and the other without noticing which way we used. Soon the blade dulled, and we should use a new blade. Then came the power pyramid ....

First a little history:

Before Mr. Gillette invented the safety razor, men slaughtered used for shaving and the women do not shave at all. Men sharpen their throats cut after each use and a good cut throat last forever. The problem was that you had to sharpen his throat cut every time and it has been stuck for a name because it would cut very easily.

The safety razor was a great progress and has been fantastic for Mr. Gillette that he could sell the blades for the rest of the life of his client. In fact, sales of razors has been so profitable that Gillette razors distributed millions of soldiers in the First World War, to persuade them to use the safety razor. It was Gillette patriotic duty and helped the bottom line business to the highest point.

A few years later, someone has invented a razor blade sharpener which you could use a single blade for a year or two. This would have reduced the profits of Gillette and what they say, Gillette bought the patent for the size and threw out the invention.

In the years that followed, he had built similar machines, but they have never taken root. In the sixties the idea of "Pyramid Power" was in vogue and people put razor blades in cardboard pyramids and low and behold after a while their blades is sharpened by the Power "Pyramid".

Soon, the ADF, like most of the sixties, the trend was more and nothing more "Pyramid Power." However, skeptics have found that if you left the razor in a cardboard tube as easily as it would strengthen the left in the pyramid. Soon others have found that simply not use the razor for a few weeks would sharpen it again.

What was happening? The edge of the razor is crystallized steel. When you use the razor, it becomes foam (at molecular crystals deformed). If you leave a single blade razor in a dry (no pyramids necessary), it will resharpen (crystal deformation back to the original form - crystals have the memory of how they should be). It is as simple as that.

N we have multi-blade razors very expensive. It is easy to save money. When your blade is sharp change of the blade, but do not discard. Keep it safe and later, when the new blade is dull, you can revert to the original blade and be happy surprise to discover that it is marked again (not as sharp as when first purchased but reusable) .

I run four or five blades and get approximately three times the life of each blade as if I just throw them away. In this way, I save the planet and saving money.
