Best Way To Shave Pubic Area

I shave my pubic area from time to time because I do not like hair there. The only problem is that it hurts. It itches bad and becomes very uncomfortable. I tried to shave every two days, but it hurts worse the second time shaving. I tried lotion on it too. It hurts just and itching. What is the best way to shave down there? How often should I do (my hair grows fast)? Is there a way to minimize the discomfort?
