300 BeardThroughout customers to share your knowledge

I just put down the phone (and actually we talked on Skype), after a 30-minute discussion with my new tax advisor, and I am overwhelmed by the integrity of the man I spoke, I felt I n 'had to write an article on my experiences.

My previous experience with tax had been tainted by bad advice, especially to pay for an "expert" to research subjects in which he should already have a good level of expertise.

~ A little history Before ~

For example, one of my previous companies, we had some problems related to withholding income tax, particularly as regards the licensing of computer games to publishers worldwide.
We have already taken legal advice and our firm had their own specialists. In an effort to do "due diligence" We have also approached a tax specialist multinational consulting for a second opinion.

A fee has been set for the consultation side, and the information provided was totally irrelevant to the problems we were facing.
After clarifying exactly what we wanted, and to negotiate new fees for in-depth research (which they needed to consult with partners in another office), we received an updated report on the action to take.

This report was again useless to our present situation. They outlined some possible scenarios on how we should organize our financial relations in the future without addressing our current problems, and ignoring the business practices standard in the computer games industry.

Fortunately our lawyers really know what they were talking, and their tax professionals have been the highest rate. We won our legal dispute and taxation, and while I do not remember the exact figures, their actions probably saved / recovered more than $ 300,000.

~ ~ Back to Today

I was looking for a personal tax advisor. My tax situation is fairly complicated, so I'm looking for someone who could demonstrate they knew what they speak.

I wrote emails to 4 companies, and also a person who operated a website providing information on tax law.

I started getting email responses of 4 companies. In all cases, companies raised additional questions, have indicated their consultation fees if they were to undertake further research and suggested that they might be able to help.

The person who ran the site has responded and said he was away, but come back to me in a few days with an answer.

Now, rather than continue my conversation with the corporate tax advice, expecting a reply from the man who ran the site. Webmasters are often very busy, and my situation may require a considerable amount of research.

A week later, I followed my original equiry, and the next day I received an email reply that, compared to previous answers gave me what I could only describe as a warm glow.

Share your knowledge ~ ~

Firstly I wish to emphasize that the webmaster has been a highly qualified tax advisor in his own right. A true specialist, who had chosen to share his deep knowledge on a website rather than consulting fees muscular feeds.

The e-mail he sent me has provided valuable insights into my own situation. It still requires a lot of questions for him to refine his response to me, but with the questions, he also explained why it was important to provide additional information.

Where possible, he gave specific examples of how different situations may affect my tax situation.

He has not asked for money (although its website there is a clear suggestion of such costs expected)

He suggested an immediate follow-up phone call to discuss my particular situation, and to clarify certain facts.
